Sautéed Brussels Sprouts with Bacon
Excellent, easy, and flavorful way to serve Brussels sprouts. Excellent served with seafood, poultry or pork!
1# brussels sprouts; quartered
8 slices bacon; standard thickness; diced
4 cloves fresh garlic; minced
¼ tsp. nutmeg; ground
Salt & Pepper to taste
Wash and cut sprouts into quarters. Set aside.
In large skillet, sauté diced bacon and garlic over medium heat for about 4-5 minutes, careful not to burn the garlic.
Add Brussels sprouts and mix well. Stir occasionally until all sides of the sprouts are a bit browned and the sprout begins to soften. When almost done, sprinkle with nutmeg and stir to incorporate and cook for another couple of minutes. Add salt and pepper to taste and serve.
- Serve for breakfast with eggs. Veggies are not just for dinner!
- Makes a great side dish for Thanksgiving dinner.
